How hard is swahili to learn?

I’m thinking about learning swahili? How hard is it to learn when english is my first language? Any other good language ideas for me? I want to be a linguist and a translator. I was thinking maybe Farsi…thanks!
It’s pretty hard to learn if you come from a purely English language backround. It is much easier to read than to speak. However, you should try learning French or perhaps some Latin.
