What do you think would be the best second language to learn and why?
October 22, 2008 by Admin
I'm going to learn a language just for fun, and I have no intent on applying it anywhere to get a job or anything like that (I'm going to be a middle or high school band teacher). I'd like something that sounds really cool to a non-speaker, and something preferebly fairly common. Not Swahili or anything stupid like that.
(between spanish and french)– it depends where you live i guess, but if you're not in Lousiana than it would probably be Spanish, because like someone said it is America's second language, so it would just help you more. I live in NYC and that would definitely help you here, as opposed to French, which I am taking cause I like it more–there's always that factor.

If you just want to learn a language just for fun or because it sounds cool I would say German or Arabic.
By the way, why do you think Swahili is a stupid language?

well, i'd say that spanish is the best to learn. you probably saw this coming too
see, spanish is like america's second language, and most people do speak it. so, i'd suggest to learn spanish, once you've learned that one, you can move on to whatever else.

It depends on where you plan on using the language- if you want to use it just in the US, I'd learn Spanish or maybe French. But if you want to speak in different parts of the world, maybe German or Arabic (like the person before me said). German is spoken/understood in many countries around it, and Arabic is used all over the Middle East. Portuguese is also spoken in about 10 countries, mostly islands. Persian is spoken in 3 different countries, I'm learning it now, it's complicated though.

Well, if you live in the United States, Spanish would be a good choice because a lot of people in this country speak Spanish, and knowing Spanish could in time become quite useful to you.
